Today, Quinte Women in Business are excited to announce that Barb Stegmann: Creator of Perfume Wars is coming to speak on September 11, 2018 at Occasions By The Bay in Trenton, Ontario. Barb Stegemann is a former Canadian journalist turned activist who took over her best friend’s mission to build peace while he was healing in the hospital after he was wounded serving in the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan. She has been called the “Top Game Changer” when she became the first woman from Atlantic Canada to land a venture-capital deal on CBC’s Dragons’ Den for creating her social enterprise, The 7 Virtues.

Her compelling story of overcoming adversity through the power of stoic wisdom is the subject if the feature-length documentary Perfume War. The film tells Stegmann’s story and has garnered many awards, including Best Humanitarian Film.
Stegemann has been name one of Canada’s Top Most Powerful Women in Canada, won the Ernst & young “Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the emerging Entrepreneur category for Atlantic Canada”, was ranked as one of the Profit Guide magazine’s “Top 30 Cool and Fabulous Canadian Entrepreneurs”; and was also made the first female Honorary Colonel in the history of 14 Wing Greenwood base, Royal Canadian Air Force.
